Do you remember my Thai green curry paste recipe? I had a bad hankering for fish as always. I love it so much it is like breathing air itself. One thing I didn’t say and I don’t want to tell half truths about myself. When I was in my early 20’s mostly the things I was making was experimental. And what ever I cooked was tasting very nice and I was very pleased with it.
It came from watching many cooking programs that I watched from a kid carrying on through adulthood. One of my nephews called me a scientist on Facebook and everyone knows about it, lol. He also said my kitchen is my laboratory.
Well I know when I go back to Pakistan Inshallah I am not going to be let off so easily. I talked to my sister in law she wants achar which means pickle and everyone else wants halwa. Also they know I would watch this lady like a hawk because she has diabetes very badly and I hope she gets better Inshallah. Inshallah means God willing in Arabic we Muslims say this in everything regarding the future.
I used 1 tbs each of both sesame and peanut oils. I have taken a package of frozen fish out and didn’t have time to thaw it so I shallow fried and set it to the side before I cooked the peapods in the same oil and same pan to catch the flavor of the fish. I used sole for this dish and fried it this way so the fish wouldn’t break because sole is a very tender fish.
Bear in mind any type of fish can be used for this dish just as long as it is fresh or frozen. Normally I thaw fish before I cook it but I was late cooking dinner, EEk I had one of those moments again because hubby was due to come in shortly so I really was in a state of panic.
Every good woman feels this way and knows it is her duty to feed her husband even if she is working or not as long as she is home before he is she is supposed to cook.
Ok if you guys the ones that can cook too and your wife has a different schedule from you then make dinner for her too. 😀 This works both ways. Even if you are single make this for yourself because it is so easy to do. Please do not put your health at risk by going to a restaurant. Eat at home it is cheaper and a lot cleaner.
Before adding the fish back to the wok I added 2 garlic cloves and 1 slice of ginger I had washed peeled and crushed. The easiest way of peeling garlic is taking a knife Is to crush them by putting the knife over the garlic cloves and with your other hand slap the knife. This will crush the garlic and it is easy to take the peel off. With ginger use a potato peeler. Use a mortar and pestle to grind it then add it to the oil add the fish back and stir add 3 drops each of soy sauce and dark soy sauce then add the Thai green chili paste from an earlier post.
