I had a packet of frozen sweet potato leaves and I didn’t know what to do with them. I looked up recipes on how to make them and then from there an idea popped in my head on how to make them. This is how I did it and I hope you like it.I forgot to soak my stockfish and dried smoked fish again and so I had to boil them to remove the salt and to soften them. The protien choices are smoked turkey, veal, lamb, goat and beef. I decided on smoked turkey and set that in a pot to boil by adding 3 cups of water and turning the stove on to low heat.I covered and let simmer until the smoked turkey became soft. I added 1 scotch bonnet, habeneros or 1 pinch of red chili poweder can be added too. After I boiled my stockfish and dried smoked fish pieces I drained them in to a seive and added the stockfish and dried fish pieces in the pot. I added 1 package of sweet potato leaves. I cut 1 onion in to half moon slices and crushed 1 clove of garlic then added it to the greens. I added I bullion cube, 3 dashes of maggi or knorr aroma, 1 pinch of crayfish, stirred and added 1 small piece of pitter stone that I had crumbled and added it to the pot. I stirred and I cooked it for 15 more minutes on low until it would thicken up a little bit. I asked all over asking Naijachef. Actually Mr. and Mrs. Naijachef to be exact, Honestly I was looking high and low looking for info about pitter stone. This is the answer they gave that is what the Yarubas use for thickening okra soup. I thanked them of course. Lol, also they are very funny and have a great sence of humor. I am glad they looked it up for me though and again thanks guys. However I love eating this with gari and that is my suggestion for this dish.
