Ok this is a very simple and straightforward recipe for salads. They can be made In many ways. No need to talk about the Greek salad because we will leave this alone because It is a done deal already. There are many types and varieties of salad that are endless.
For this post we will cover a green salad which is what I made yesterday.
You can cut 1 small iceberg lettuce, endive, romaine, baby or Boston in to tiny pieces after washing it, 1 bunch of arugula, spinach that has been washed. Best it is fresh spinach and yes it can be eaten raw too. Pick the spinach, add 1 drop of dish soap and use lots of cold runing water to clean it because spinach can be quite gritty just like any other type of green. You can add either one type of or mix it up as you prefer. You can also wash and add 1 large tomato of any type or 1 handful of cherry or grape tomatoes, 1 cucumber shredded or dice and 1 onion cut in to half moon slices and seperate in to tiny pieces and scattered throughout the salad.
The rest are purely optional: they are 1 bell pepper of any color cut in to strips, 1 beet cut in to slices, 1 handful of whole baby carrots or 2 large carrots sliced, 1 handful of fresh broccoli florets raw, 1 handful of buttom mushrooms raw, 1 handful of sliced radishes, 1 avocado sliced or diced and mix your desired ingredients.
With zabiha halal lunch meat meaning sliced smoked turkey, balongna, salami, peparoni, cheese and 2 hard boiled chicken eggs added this becomes a chef’s salad.
Also 4 pieces of zabhiha halal turkey or beef bacon fried til crisp and crumbled before added to salad or 1 handful of chickpeas or any other type of cooked beans, green beans corn and peas for garnish. Add 3 pinches of parsley for added flavor.
Add choice of salad dressings and please check ingredients before putting it in cart.
I Prefer homemade but I will cover that someother time. I like balsamic vinegar and olive oil on my salad and I hope you will enjoy.
