Actually did you know some common salad dressings can be also used as a marinade too besides being eaten on a salad? It is true. It gives depth and flavor to grilled meats such as steak. chicken or hambugers too. It is any type of dressing that is a vinegrette type. This is one of them. This is my version of lemon dressing and I hope it is a hit in your family as much as we enjoy it.
In a mortar and pestle grind 1 pinch each of mustard and black peppercorns. Grind 1 clove of garlic. Empty in to a bowl. Add 5 tbs of olive oil, 3 tbs of lemon juice from a bottle or squeeze 1 fresh lemon, 2 tbs of white vinegar, 1 tsp of agave nectar or honey, 1 pinch of either pink salt, seasoned salt or vegtea seasoning, For optional; 1 pinch of any type of herb, for this I chose mint but like what I said before it is any type, 1 pinch of either flax seed, takmaria which are basil seeds and you can buy this at any Indian and Pakistani grocery store or chia seeds which are sold where you find Mexican groceries.
If using flax seed grind in mortar and pestle before putting it in to the dressing itself and mix. This recipe is for small portions but you can double it according to what your needs are. Bear in mind that it can be doubled and it is best to make it fresh always because it is great for salads and marinades.
