Actually this is something that a lot of fancy schmancy restaurants would have on the menu. I don’t have a lot of dough and I really have wanted to try this for the longest and never had tasted this before until I have made this and tried it for the first time ever.
I really loved what I was eating without having to blow Mr. Riaz’s hard earned cash on this. Actually he doesn’t mind at all one bit. Here at home I was able to spend a lot less then ording it at a swanky resturant. First you need this spice blend here and any type of fish can be used. This can be baked grilled or fried. If baking set your oven for 375F or 190C. If you are grilling you have to place the fish inside of an aluminum foil pouch so the fish can stay in tact. Use 3 tbs of any type of cooking oil of choice.
Be sure to shallow fry if you are frying. Also use a cast iron skillet. These can be used in the oven as well as stovetop. For fish use 1 to 2 lbs or 1 to 1/2 kg you can also do shrimp this way too. For those who follow me all over social media, be on the lookout for my posts. I have not gone anywhere. I am still here.
Wash the fish and for whole fish you have to be sure the scales are removed. If you don’t want to do this then ask the guy where you bought the fish from to do it for you. some may be frozen uncleaned so if this happens then do it yoursef by using the front end of the spoon starting from the tail and work down to the head and the scales will pop off. Use a pair of kitchen shears to trim off the fins and use a steak knife to cut the fish open in the belly and remove the insides and the gills. The gills can easily be ripped out.
To the clean fish after you rinse very well. Now it is time to season the fish by adding 1 capful of either lemon or lime juice which will help remove the smell from the fish. Add 1 pinch of either seasoned salt, pink salt, or vegtea seasoning, the blackened seasoning which link I had posted. Please look up^^^^????
If grilling place the seasoned fish in the middle of a sheet of aluminum foil. Place the cooking oil of choice on the fish and wrap the foil at the top first like you are wrapping a present fold this once and then fold again at the top and the sides smooth it out and flatten make like a triangle and fold going either over or under. Do the same with the orther end. The shrimp can be put on skewers and place the foil packet or shrimp skewers on the grill for 5 minutes on each side until they are done.
If you are baking Place fish or shrimp in a cast iron with oil of choice and cook for 10 mintes per side until done, Shallow pan fry also in cast ion add oil of choice an let it get hot then add the seasoned fish or shrimp and the fish is cooked 5 minutes per side flip and repeat until done and the shrimp needs to be cooked like a stir fry.
This is terrific with a salad and I suggest you try this today. Believe me, I wasn’t disapointed at all.
