Hey y’all I got a new recipe for you to try and last night it was my absolute first time trying to make something new which is another first during this pandemic. I remember buying a Miso soup mix that had everything in it from Dominick’s before It closed forever. I got Safeway to blame for this because they absolutly had something to do it it. As ususal this soup is not for Mr. Riaz because it has a fishy taste and smell on which I really love. This is my favorite soup hands down and what you need first is 1 quart or 1 liter of water brought to a boil. Add either 1 pouch of dashi powder or make your own by adding 2 pinches each of kumbu seaweed and bonito flakes. Make and add 1 batch of Burmese AKA Besan (Chickpea Flour Tofu a day in advance if you are going to use this for making miso soup. Add 1 pinch of pink salt, 1 sheet of noori crumbled, crack 1 whole fresh egg and cook it like it is a poached egg. Add 1 tsp of miso paste, 3 dashes of either soy sauce or ponzu, 1 handful of either dried or fresh mushrooms of any type, 3 green onions chopped, 1 can of fish that is either in brine or oil but preferably shell fish.
This gets all boiled together for 5 minutes and added to a bowl and it is amazingly comforting and delicious. Bonito flakes are made from fish and you can go to either Amazon or best yet your local Asian store carrying Japanese and other Asian items as well. This is done on stovetop and starts on high and ends on low heat. It gets served up in to a bowl and enjoyed with a small cup of matcha green tea on the side.
