This is the problem now days because no one cooks hardly or even sits down to eat a decent meal anymore. Hopefully us food bloggers will change all of that. I grew up eating French toast I think it is still very yummy plus it is a very simple recipe and doesn’t take long at all to cook.
The equipment you need is a cast iron electric or any other type of skillet, a bowl for making the mixture to dunk bread in, a whisk or fork or egg beater to beat the eggs.
Ingredients: 4 eggs
4 tbs of milk
A pinch of cinnamon
a drop of vanilla essence This one has no alcohol and it can be bought at any Indian and grocery store in your area.
4 slices of bread I prefer whole grain bread over white it is more nutritious it works this way too not just for white bread.
butter or cooking spray for frying I prefer butter although cooking spray is healthier and it works if you are more calorie conscience.
Method: In a bowl crack 4 eggs, mix with milk using either an egg beater for or whisk , use what is available for you. Add a pinch of cinnamon and a drop of alcohol free vanilla essence. and mix very well.
Heat your skillet then either use cooking spray but the skillet you turn off the stove and spray the pan that is kept away from heat at all times,
or if you want to use butter that is fine too take a pat of butter melt it and swirl it around in the skillet till it is evenly coated.
Dip the bread in an egg mixture and fry it till it is golden brown on both sides. For those that are gluten sensitive there is gluten free bread that is sold in some stores that can be used too.
After they are done cooking take them and put them on a plate and serve with your choice of syrup, jam, honey, or even sprinkled with powdered sugar it can even be the organic type.
I hope you enjoy this recipe.
