I made this a few times for Mr. Riaz and he really loves it. It is really funny coming from someone that does not like fish so much but this recipe he really fell in love with hook line and sinker. I have the show me the curry site as an inspiration but as usual I have my own spin on things and this is how I did it. First I made Tandoori Masala. If you do not want to use my recipe then go and buy ready made.
I make my tandoori masala which is for single use only. This way it would stay fresh.I added 1/4 cup of olive oil to the pot on high heat. To this I add 1 onion or shallot and fry it until it is brown.
I add 1 tsp of mustard oil, 1 pinch of hing and 2 curry leaves to the oil, I added 1 small piece of ginger, 2 cloves of garlic and 1 green chili chopped I empty the contents of my mortar and add 1 pinch each of mustard seeds, cumin seeds and grind in to my mortar and pestle then add to the pot. Turn down to low heat and add 1 pinch each of turmeric powder, red chili powder and pink salt.
I added 1 tomato and cooked it down on low heat until it was a mushy pulp. I added 1 large can of tuna in water, do not drain just add the water along with the tuna and 1 pinch of cilantro and cook until it is hot. Just make sure it is heated through then turn off the heat.
This is great with chapati and perfect for when you are tired and do not want to do much cooking. Enjoy!!!!
