As I stated in the last post, here I am. First you can not make this yummy dish without these two My Ras El Hanout and Preserved Lemons. This would not be a proper dish from any North African country without it.
After you make these up then you are home free from here. The rest is very easy and here is how.
I added 1/4 cup of olive oil to a pot and added 1 onion or shallot cut in half moon slices. I added 1 pinch of pink salt, 4 cloves of garlic then stirred until the rawness goes away.
I add the ras el hanout that I had freshly made for this recipe and it was enough for this pot. I added 2 preserved lemons with dried fruit of choice and 1 bay leaf.
What I meant by dried fruit is 3 dried apricots, figs, prunes or dates or 1 pinch of rasions or dried currants. I washed peeled and cut 2 turnips in half moon slices and 4 carrots that I washed peeled and cut in to 5 to 6 pieces and added them to the pot.
I added 6 capers and 4 olives with their juice then stirred. I added 1 kilo or 1 lb of chicken breast or other chicken pieces on the bone and cooked it on low heat for 35 minutes or until vegetables and chicken are well cooked.
Now you have this yummy recipe to enjoy and I really hope you enjoy it.
