This is really my first ever attempt on how to make Japanese food. I really love it. I also love sushi so this recpie is based really on something I love to eat. I was looking in some blogs for ideas on how I can make this. I looked up on this one called donburi. I am going to do more recipes like these Inshallah. Some day Inshallah I will use even a packet of ramen noodles and go from there and I will do some more with rice Inshallah too.
This one too is a very easy recipe and takes little effort to make it. I put on a pot of rice to cook on the stove and I got out a mixing bowl while the rice was cooking. In one bowl I have opened and drained 1 can of fish in brine only. This can be used for any type of fish like mackeral, tuna, salmon or even crab meat, clams or oysters, 1 small onion or shallot cut in to half moon slices, 1 small piece each of daikon radish, ginger julienned. To julienne the ginger and daikon radish is first peel, wash, cut in half, slice them in to half moon slices and then cut in half of each one of these in to 4 segments to get a julienne. Add this to the bowl.
Add 1 pinch of dried shrimp, 2 cloves of garlic crushed, wash and julienne 1 cucumber then mix. Add 1 drop each of blackstrap molasses, chili oil, siracha, alcohol free mirin, either tamari or panzu sauce 1 tbs of rice vinegar. Mix and add 1 pinch each of white and black sesame seeds, 3 green onions chopped.
Fill up the bowl full of cooked rice. This time it was jasmine rice I used but short grain white rice works too then add the fish salad on top and serve with wasabi paste.
OMG!!! This is very rare but this happened when I ate this wasabi. It made me cry really. I know one certain young lady that got a kick out of it. Anyway enjoy. You can find all of these items I used in an Asian store.
