Actually as you can tell I really do love green beans. This dish is also very healthy and tasty. It can be either made with or without meat and later in the post I am going to show you how it is done.
You will need 2 kilos or 2 pounds of fresh green beans or 1 bag of frozen. It doesn’t matter how they are cut at all and in the end it is going to taste great. Also there are some that are yellow and tastes the same as the green beans and this will work just as well. If using fresh, just be sure to wash and trim the stems off of the tops then you can cut them in to either 3 or 4 segments.
For the vegans and vegetarians I got you covered. You can either use 10 strips of zabiha halal turkey or beef bacon or Morningstar farm’s stribbles This is veggie bacon. Feel free to use the contact form to ask me any questions about ingredients or you can hit me up on social media. Also you can add 3 dashes of liquid smoke which is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans and it too is halal.
Everything I blog about is halal meaning it is permitted and I started out with the inclusion here in this blog and it is going to stay that way. Grind 1 pinch of either black, green, white, pink, or mixed peppercorns in mortar and pestle and set aside. Add 1/4 cup of cooking oil of olive, peanut, grapeseed, corn, canola, sunflower, safflower or avocado in a pot on regular stovetop or in an instant pot on saute function on high heat.
Add 2 cups of water and turn heat to low on regular stovetop for 25 minutes. If you are using instant pot and the like, turn off the saute function and tap the pressure cook button then select time for 12 minutes. The beauty of the instant pot is that it is very safe to use and it shuts off when time is up. However if you are on saute mode then you have to watch carefully so stuff doesn’t burn.
Add 1 onion or shallot, 1 clove of garlic chopped. Chop and add the zabiha halal beef or turkey bacon or the Morningstar farms stribbles and let it brown, add the contents from the mortar and pestle, 3 dashes of balsamic vinegar, either 2 pinches of either vegtea seasoning or pink salt, smoked sea salt only if there isn’t any zabiha or veggie bacon used and a replacement for liquid smoke too, chili infused sea salt or 3 dashes either of Goya seasonador, seasoned salt or adobo and stir. Also you can either add 1 pinch of bullion powder or 1 bullion cube. Add 3 dashes of Maggi or Knorr aroma, either 1 pinch of chili powder or 1 drop of hot sauce.
This is enjoyed with cornbread, biscuits or even bread rolls.
