After I got an instant pot duo crisp from Mr. Riaz as a birthay present, I found myself unable to stop using it. I have been using it to create some really yummy recipes and making dinner from my older posts and updating my blog on how that this instant pot has changed my life in the kitchen. I wish the company making instant pot will sponser a home chef like myself.
I can now get dinner done and I don’t have to slave away in a steamy hot kitchen even in the middle of summer anymore. I was going to do this post just only for instant pot but I have a change of heart. Also I went shoppling for accesories too to use in my instant pot. I have found some great things on amazon.
For regular oven temperture, preheat oven to 375F or 190C. The same temp is for the instant pot. Because I have the duo crisp, the air fryer lid and basket came with it. I have an 8 quart which is fine for me. As you can tell in my previous post that I made a succulent veal rost using my favorite gadget in the kitchen and it is my instant pot. For other models you have to get the air fryer lid because it is for the 6 quart. I looked it up if your inner lining is ceranmic then you have to buy a steel liner too. The internet is loaded with a bunch of useful information about what you have in your kitchens.
It is a way of using your owners manual which also gives you a lot of knowlage about your device.
Fry 4 pieces of eiter zabiha halal turkey or beef bacon or Morningstar farm stribbles on saute function or regular stovetop method in a skillet and when crispy shut it off. Crumble these and set aside. In a mixing bowl combine 1 cup each of all purpose unbleached flour and cornmeal, 2 pinches of baking powder, 1 egg, 2 green onions, 1 regular onion or 1 shallot chopped, 1 pinch of black, white, green, pink or mixed peppercorns ground in mortar and pestle.
Add the zabhiha halal bacon or veggie bacon if using also add the greese from the zabiha halal bacon if any, or you can use either 1 piece of cheese crumbled, 1 can of corned beef, 1 can of canned fish undrained and mashed of any type, 1 can of zabiha halal lunchmeat, 1 pinch of and or parsley, thyme, oregano and basil red chili powder, either 1 chilli of any type or 1 drop of hot sauce, 3 dashes of maggi or knorr aroma, 2 drops of liquid smoke only if the zabiha halal or veggie bacon isn’t used for smokey flavor, either 1 bullion cube or 3 dashes of Goya sazonador, adobo, seasoned salt, or 1 pinch of vegtea seasoning or pink salt. Smoked sea salt or chili infused sea salt in these exact measures are good too. Instead of slices of cheese as you wish, try Auguson farms or Hooshier Hill Farms cheese powder and butter powder in the mix in place of a pat of butter or egg powder instead of cracking a fresh egg. For a richer taste as a variation such as 1 tsp of Hoosier Hill Farms powdered cream cheese, sour cream, heavy cream, buttermilk, powdered butter or Nido or another brand of milk powder in in to the batter and mix well.
Add 1 cup of water or enough to make a thick lump free batter. Add either 1 tsp of oil of choice such as palm, coconut, olive, corn, canola, peanut, avocado, grapeseed, sunflower or safflower. Line the muffin tins with cupcake liners and add 3 tbs of batter to them and bake in the oven for 25 minutes or until done, or spray silicone with cooking spray bites molds and add 2 tsps of batter and place it in the air fryer basket and place the disk that came with it on top. This is for roasting and I read food dehydrating also it serves as an extra rack in the air frying basket. I had enough batter to fill up 2 silicone bites molds.
They say silicone is oven safe too but I went with my gut instincts. Place the air fryer lid on instant pot and select bake the temp is 375F and time is 12 minutes. Instant pot makes a noise and shuts off when time is up. If it doesn’t look fully done then repeat by using 10 minutes. Make sure you add 2 cups of water in the lining of the instant pot duo crisp and the like. Add a trivet and the disk on top then place the eggbite mold full of batter on top before you cook.
Also vegans and vegarians you can add 1/4 cup of frozen vegetables of choice instead of meat.
There are a few ways you can eat these. They are either with 1 pat of butter or a smear of cream cheese. You can also make a pink sauce coming from Halal Mofongo with boiled Yucca or Cassava or my cocktail sauce from this post Seafood Cocktail Appetizer. There you go and I hope you will enjoy this. Actually this is a fusion dish and this an african element in it which is why I used red palm oil, and there is the Puerto Rican element as well that is why I used the adobo. Cheers!!!!!!!
