Actually I seen this idea on YouTube because my instant pot duo crisp has a dehydrate function on it that I was looking up on how to dehydrate fruit on it.
This lady gave me an idea on how to make my own fruit leathers and this is exactly what I did.
First take 1 big sheet of parchment paper and fold in half right smack dab in the middle andmake sure it is even and use this as a guide to cut straight in the fold as a guide with kitchen sheers.
Never use other scissors on your food the stores sell some specifically for in the kitchen for food use only. The parchment paper is now in two pieces.
Now you want to take these two half pieces and and repeat what you did earlier when the parchment paper itself was one whole piece. Cut these in half and now you have and should be four equal quadrants of parchment paper.
lay these on a food dehydrating rack one piece of parchment paper and spray with cooking spray and apply 3 tbs of either unsweetened apple sauce or make fruit puree by placing 3 handfuls of fresh fruit cut in tiny chunks and pulsed in a food processor until you have a puree.
It should be a little chunky and a very thick paste and not watery. DO NOT ADD ANY ADDITIONAL WATER!!!! It isn’t even necessary because fruit has its own juice.
Add the same amount of puree and with the back of the spoon or use a spatula to smear it all over the parchment paper on the dehydrater plate. Amazon sells food dehydrater racks for use in instant pot duo crisp 8 quart.
Place air fryer lid on instant pot and the like select dehydrate on 165F for between 4 to 6 hours.
When it is done remove this from the racks and place these fruit leathers in a zip bag. This is an awesome treat for anyone especially children. Also it is extremely healthy.
The zip baggies, parchment paper and kitchen shears you can buy from dollar stores like Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Family Dollar or places like Walmart and Target.
