If you are wondering about this post it is because it is very basic and it tastes lovely when it is finished. 1 lb or 1 kg of any type of fish can be used, Bigger fish needs to be cut in to steaks and I tell you this is far from being disapointing. This is done in the instant pot primarly because this is the easiest way to enjoy bake broiled roasted or even fried fish without the fuss even. Diabetics like me can even enjoy it because it is rich in protien and low in carbs. If you get the whole fish which isn’t cleaned just rip the gills out, scale the fish with a fish scale remover which I bought from Amazon or the front end of the spoon and work your way down to the head. Cut the belly of the fish using a boning knife or another type of slim knife. Remove the insides of the fish and make sure the cavity is hollow and empty. Rinse the fish with cold water and add 1 tbs of lemon juice to kill the smell.
Another thing I love about multi functional cookers is there is no wait time waiting for your oven to preheat. Also food tastes great and that is a plus. Season the fish with 1 clove of garic crushed in mortar and pestle then add 1 pinch of either mixed, pink, green, black or white peppercorns in mortar and pestle and grind coarsley. Add this to the fish too along with any herb of choice such as basil, parsley, oregano, dill weed, etc. I am giving you for an example and what you have available in your house. Add 1 pinch of either kosher salt pink salt sea salt and there are the smoked kind and if using this then using a drop of liquid smoke isn’t necessary but if not added go ahead and add if you like. There is also the chili infused variety but same goes to show if you are adding either 1 chili of any type deseeded, 1 drop of hot pepper sauce or 1 pinch of chili powder.
Add 1 pinch of paprika and 1 pinch of either adobo, goya seasondor, bullion powder, seasoned salt or vegtea seasoning along with 1 pinch of lemon pepper. Add 1 tsp of oil so the fish isn’t dry like either olive, corn, canola, peanut, almond, avocado, grapeseed, flaxseed, macadamia nut, vegetable, sunflower, safflower, butter ghee, coconut or butter. Add 3 dashes of maggi or knorr aroma, 1 tsp of either balsamic, malt, white, apple cider, cane or wine vinegar.
Now this is seasoned properly, take a silpat a small one and slip it in the the fryer basket. Add the seasoned fish and place 3 cups of water in to the inner lining. Place the air fryer lid on top of the instant pot and the like. Plug it in and select bake at 375 for 20 minutes, broil at 400 for 15 minutes, Fry at 375 for 15 minutes or roast at 400 for 15 minutes. This is all in degree farenheit and the instant pot and the like can be set to metric also. Just google oven metric conversion. Serve with grains and vegetables of choice. Cheers!!!!!
