Last night I was definately in one of my I do not feel like cooking phazes. It is because I was so tired after going grocery shoping which put me in this perdicament and it always does. This recipe has written itself at the very last minute and Mr. Riaz came home hungry as usual. Otherwise I was going to open up a can of vegetarian chili and call it a night and I mean seriously. Mr. Riaz is usually very understanding in this matter and he is not going to push me to cook when I clearly don’t feel like it.
Let me explain this to set you straight on this matter once and for all. Prophet Mohammed (Sallah Allahi Wasalam) had many wives and he got up and cooked his own food and washed his own dishes etcetera. I do not want any of my family members who reads my blog think I am being lazy and Mr. Riaz does cook for himself if I am under the weather.
As for this steak it can be a 2 to 4 skirt steaks or any type of flat steak in particular. Either use 1 tsp of cooking oil of any type which depends on what you have available or butter ghee in skillet. Wash the steak off in cold water and place it on a plate or bowl to be seasoned. Again seasonings very and it depends on what you have in your pantry and what you prefer. Add 1 tsp of vinegar of choice depending on what you have on hand too. This tenderizes the meat. You do not need to be fancy pants and I let you my readers use whatever type of spice that you have at home and it has to yield a pinch or even several shakes of a salt and pepper shaker.
You can even add worchestershire sauce as a seasoning even before cooking, Cook for 5 minutes and flip and cook for another 5 keep repeating until it is well done also you can grill this too besides frying this in a skillet. You can eat it on chapati as a wrap topped with either plain yogurt or even tahini. Also you can enjoy this too with eggs and tomatoes. The eggs you can cook how you like also.
