Do you remember my turkey from thanksgiving? Well the meat from the carcass is great for this casserole. You do not need added seasoning to much because it is there already. Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit or 180 Celsius. If not here it is > Thanksgiving turkey with my family . Use this link to season turkey pieces if you are using fresh turkey parts.
Then bring 1 gallon or 4 liters of water to a rapid boil and add your choice of macaroni and cook the macaroni according to package directions. Also you can swap out the macaroni for rice or potatoes if you wish. With potatoes scrub 8 potatoes nuke for 5 minutes and slice thinly or 2 cups of rice of any type wash until it becomes clear. Boil the rice in 1 qt or liter of water for 10 minutes strain and add turkey mixture and stir.
Drain the macaroni when it is at aldente stage. and run cold water on it and oil an oven safe baking dish and add the cooked macaroni, grated cheese, 1/2 package of frozen string beans or other frozen vegetables of choice. Remember you do not need any added seasoning in here except a pinch of parsley. Shred and add the cooked turkey you have from the carcass and grate and add 2 chunks of cheddar or other types of cheese of your choice and add them to either the macaroni, rice or potatoes. Add 1/2 cup of milk 3 pats of butter and 1 tbs of olive oil. Stir this to combine and bake for 30 to 40 minutes. The cheese should be melted and gooey.
Half the times the turkey doesn’t go this far because I eat most of it cold but this was a first. Enjoy.
P.S. If the sauce is a little thin, take 1/4 of a cup out of the roasting pan after the casserole as finished cooking. Add this to a bowl, a cup or whatever you have. Add 2 tbs of cornstarch, add this back to the casserole, turn on the heat to high and keep folding the casserole in to its sauce and let it get thick. Once it is thick shut off the heat and let it sit for 10 minutes and serve.
Also you can combine these in the instant pot and the like and place the air fry lid and bake for 20 minutes and if cheese is not fully melted and bubbly repeat. If sauce is thin the with regular tempered glass lid select sauté for 10 minutes or until liquid is reduced.
