Here is another very easy chat recipe. I wish I was totally in Pakistan now. My heart and brain is still there and never fully left as everyone who knows me is already way too familiar.
I soaked 2 handfuls of chickpeas overnight and cooked them in a pressure cooker for 20 minutes with 1 liter or 1 quart of water. After safety valve has popped up then I set timer for 20 minutes. When time is up I let the pressure escape and checked if the safety valve is down.
I opened checking the bean and they are perfect. If you want to drain them or not it Is up to you. I put these beans in a bowl and added either 1 tbs of lemon or lime juice, 1 pinch each of pink salt, chat masala and red chili powder and gave it a good mix. I added 1 pinch of cilantro and I chopped 1 tomato and 1 onion. Add 1/4 cup of plain Desi yogurt. Again you can add any color onion to this dish except for green long onions.
Mix again and serve with kabab chapatti or parata.
