Heys it has been ages I have blogged about a snack item. It is everyone’s favorite including mine. Instead of buying a bag of ready-made popcorn 🍿😋 please make your own very tasty treat.
Take out either a coldero preferably with a glass lid on top so you can see inside or go to Walmart Target or perhaps if lazy order on line at Amazon for a microwave popcorn popper.
If you are using a microwave oven place in the microwave popper 3 or 4 tbs of popcorn kernels, any type will do place the lid and the popcorn needs a lot of room to pop and no oil for the microwave version and it is between 230 and 300 on the microwave and tap start then set aside.
Now for stovetop in the coldero add 3 tbs of cooking oil of choice. It can either macadamia nut, flax seed, canola, corn, vegetable, olive, grapeseed, sunflower, safflower, peanut, almond or coconut or you can add the butter ghee instead.
Add the kernals to the caldero which is the same exact amount as the microwave version and place the glass lid on and turn the heat on high until you hear and see the popping sound and vigorously shake the pot by the handle while wearing an oven glove or other potholder for protection. Keep shaking until all of the kernals pop.
Popcorn should be made in small batches only. This is great for viewing your favorite movies on either Amazon, Netflix or Hulu. Also if you have cable and want to watch a sports match too.
Now seasoning the pocorn is optional. You can add either 1 drop of hot sauce, 1 tiny pinch of chili flavored sea salt, or smoke flavored sea salt is great too, red chili powder, African yellow chili powder, adobo, goya seasonador, vegtea, seasoning, seasoned salt, pink salt, kosher salt, bullion powder or take 1 bullion cube and crush it and use a tiny bit of this sprinkled on popcorn. Last but not least: you can also add a pinch of any type of dried herb or do a mixed herb combo like thyme, marjoram, rosemary, oregano and basil.
It doesn’t just stop here Augason Farms and Hoosier Farms both have wonderful items to use for this purpose. Add 3 tbs each of real butter powder and cheese powder and give it a brisk stir or the popcorn with these yummy goodies goes in a container with a lid and gets a nice shake to coat the popcorn.
Oh the chili infused sea salt I had bought on Amazon are jalapeño, Carolina Reeper, Trinidad scorpion pepper, ghost pepper and habenero. They are absolutely delicious. 💯😍 I will take a picture and post on Instagram.
