Dhansak Masala

Hi peeps I am going to do a request recipe in my very next post and this masala goes in it. So I am going to cut to the chase and show you how to make this dahamsak masala. You will need either a spice grinder or a mortar and pestle also a fine grater for grating nutmeg. I have a mortar and pestle as many of you know.

In the mortar and pestle or spice grinder add grated nutmeg equivalent to a pinch by using the fine part of a grater, the rest are whole spices such as 3 cloves, 1 piece of broken cinnamon stick, 1 broken piece of star anise, 2 green cardamoms, 1 black cardamom, 1 bay leaf crumble before putting it in to either the mortar and pestle or spice grinder, 1 pinch each of poppy seeds, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, black peppercorns, grind in to a coarse powder. This is for dhamsak dishes.

The list goes on etc. and of course I love latamore and luther vandros, the beatles, rolling stones and Yusef Islam is also one of the greatest voices and Allah blessed them all with such great talents.
