Mild Cabbage Stew

Actually while I was looking up recipes to try making that I stumbled on the how to make great food site and however found out from there they have a youtube channel. I was disappointed that they do not have that many text recpies before that site folded. It isn’t there anymore. Just their videos remain on youtube. However I feel they ignore people who are not Aheramiac speaking. Although you can follow along and there are english sub titles but I tried this out and gave it my spin on doing this recipe as usual. This one is a mild dish only and the only thing you have to make in advance is the Niter Kibbeh.
Now in a pot on high heat and add 1 oz cup of olive oil. Add 1 onion or shallot cut in to half moon slices and cook until they turn fragrant and translucent. Add 4 cloves of garlic to cook until the rawness goes away and do not brown the onion and garlic. Add 4 big carrots peeled and sliced in to big pieces and either 1 small head or 1/2 of a large head of cabbage. Add 1 bullion cube, 3 dashes of maggi or knorr aroma, 1 green chili chopped, reduce to low heat. Add the niter kibbeh and 1 pinch of turmeric powder. Stir and cover. Cook for 20 minutes on low heat on stovetop. Serve on injera.
