Koolaid

Actuaally you have to excuse my glucerna shakes in the background but I meant to aim for that glass of koolaid. But this is no ordinary glass of koolaid. I make it without sugar. I am doing this for people that does not know how to make koolaid at all especially these young people coming up that doesn’t know even how to boil water. Honestly it is so sad.
I am not out for going on attack at all so do not get me wrong. It is up to us people from the old school to take these young people by the hands and then show them the yummy stuff we grew up on. It is better then pop and easier on the kidneys. Pop is what we call soda here in Chicago of all places lol. I always use the unsweetened koolaid in a package. They are Koolaid brand and Wylers brand unsweetened softdrink mix. They come in many flavors as well and to make them it is best to follow package directions.
Aldi’s has their brand too it is cheap and still we call them all koolaid. The way I do it is by emptying the packet in to the pitcher. Mine is always sugar free so instead of using sugar I end up using either 6 to 8 small packets of stevia. I used equal in the past but they said aspertame which is in the ingredient of equal sweetener caused health problems so I threw mine in the garbage never ever buying or consuming in it again ever. You can use splenda if you choose or add 1/4 cup of either sugar free syrup availabe at many Middle Eastern stores or agave nectar. The pitcher is either 1/2 gallon or 2 liters and you can put this much water in it and give it a good mix then stick it in the refridgerator to chill for 3 hours or more before serving.
This is absolutly fabulous at barbecues and birthday parties for kids. I love drinking this when it is hot outside and to my Indian and Pakistani peeps, no this is not sherbat this is Koolaid in advance. I also remember I seen some African American kids would go in to their mom’s or guardian’s cupboard and get out a packet of unsweetened koolaid and stick their fingers in to the packet of the sour powder which it is and lick it off their fingers and their fingers and tongues would turn differnt colors. This was an absolute riot.
Who rememembers the Koolaid Guy from the commercial when he says Oh yeah!? I do and I think he was cute because he looked like a pitcher and he wore tights. The kids said “it’s koolaid” and I seriously was wishing I was one of those kids. I remember also you can make Icy cups from these by putting them in to styrofoam cups and sticking them in the freezer to enjoy later I knew one old lady that made and sold these. One more varient is that you can make popsicles with this too by putting the koolaid in popsickle moulds you can buy in dollar stores mostly and stick in the freezer until the next day or just drink as it is. Anyway it goes Koolaid is amazing and I love it to bits.
