Turkish Potato Casserole

Heys there is another instant pot recipe I have for you and some people think that this same recipe that is for one pertcular instant pot that they think it is not made for another one. I have seen a reaction just like this in Instagram where one lady was saying that the recipe for her old instant pot is not the same as the newer one. On contrary it is not the case and it can be adjusted accordingly. It is called being creative. First of all you will need this right here to make just before you start this Turkish potato casserole. Pepper Paste is what is needed before you start cooking. Make this and set this aside.
Turn on the saute function for 10 minutes first of the cooker and add either 1 oz of olive oil. grapeseed oil or sunflower oil, after the the instant pot says hot then it would start counting down. Add 1 shallot or 1 onion in half moon slices, 2 cloves of garlic chopped, stir then add either 1 pinch of pink salt, vegtea seasoning, kosher salt, seasononed salt or sea salt. Let the onion and garlic brown slightly. Add 1 pinch each of paprika, dill weed, parsley, peppercorns ground in a mortar and pestle. By this time the cooker had shut off because the time is up and it is done sauteing.
Add the red pepper paste and from here you can make it to be either veg or non veg. For non veg take 1 package of sajuk also spelled sucuk and take it out of the package and slice it in to chunks. You can also add in its place 1 kg or 1 lb of keema which means mince meat in Urdu, It can be of chicken, lamb, goat, veal or turkey. Rinse this and drain the excessive water from it then add to the cooker. For the veg option there is the dried veggie crumbles by Auguson Farms. Take 1/4 of a cup and soak it in a bowl of water following the directions on the can. Walmart and Amazon has it. You can also use 1 package of frozen veggie crumbles by Boka, Moringstar Farm or Beyond meat.
Add 1 dab of tomato paste, 1 large carrot or 1/2 bag of baby carrots washed and cut in to cunks. The big carrot needs to be peeled first, 1 large bell pepper of any color will do fine too. Take 3 potatoes and scrub them very well and chop them and add them too. Add 1 cup of water and place the foil on top of the cooker and the lid over it and select slow cook on low for 4 hours.
This wonderful dish is ok on its own and enjoyed with a nice glass of ayran which is Turkish for lassi. They are the same thing and Arabs laban. It is a yogurt drink and very refreshing. Also I would suggest Turkish coffee after this lovely meal too.
