About Herbal Teas

Hey guys I was talking to a dear friend in a twitter DM yesterday and this was not the first time we talked about herb tea and herbal medicine. He loves this particular herbal tea by Traditional Medicinals called Smooth Moove. However it is a laxitive herb tea and I am very well familiar with it. A long time ago I drank on occation Laci Le Beau Super Diet Tea which also does the same thing.
There are a couple of books I have just put in there as well that talks about herbal medicine and we will get to this in a bit but it has every bit to do with this very post and I have learned a lot from reading these two books along with the Nutrition Almanac and Cooking with Mother Nature by Dick Gregrory. The last two books I do not have but I want to get them Inshallah.
However I have a bunch of spices in my kitchen and believe it or not like Mr. Robert Ripley would say are medicinal. I highly recomend you to get those two books that I posted up there and I had them forever nearly. The Medicine of the Prophet (Sallah Allahi Wasalam) It means Peace Be Upon Him in Arabic. I found this book at an Islamic Convention here in Chicago. I so much wanted this book for the longest before I bought it and when I seen it that I snapped it up. I didn’t waste time getting it.
Dr, Michaels had a store that sold loose herblal teas on Western Av near Foster. It has been closed for a very long time. Some of these teas I got from Cermac here in Chicago. These Teas are marvolous and my mom got me to drink them starting from when I was in high school. I was never sick then and she gave me a canister jam packed full of herbal teas in a tea bag. I mean it was overflowing and she knew about my breating problems and my allergies.
Those really helped me a lot and helped me unwind as well because I was under so much stress it wasn’t funny even back then and no one so young should have to deal with the bullshit I was going through back then. I boiled the water in my tea kettle yesterday. If you do not have one then you can use a small sauce pan and set the water to boil. If you hear a tea kettle whistle it is time to turn the heat off and make sure you have it on high heat to boil water.
If you are using loose tea then fill a tea egg with loose tea and if it is strong please only add 1 tsp because some herbs are very strong so be careful. Some of theese are our spices. You will be surprised. However if you have a sprain then you can use arnica flowers and then dip a clean face towel in it and apply it to this area. It is commonly known in homeopathy. This is not to be injested. The rest like burdock root, rose hips, comfery, etc is safe to take in internally. Read one of these books for further informaton.
Back to steeping herb teas so you can have a nice soothing drink, sorry I’m all over the place. If you have a microwave then you can add water to the mug and press the buttons for 100 for 1 minute and then dunk your tea egg with the loose herb tea or using a tea bag and steep for a minute. Do the same with boiled water from stovetop. Make sure you do not make it too strong because some have an extreemly high tannon content. The oolong tea I have been talking about is what I drink when I am eating Chinese dishes.
Do the same thing with oolong tea bag either in a mug for one cup and also with just one tea bag you can use it in a thermos so you can have extra cups of tea and this way avoid wasteage. There has been hibuscus that I covered in an earlier post so that does not count here. There are two different posts I did because it is high in anti oxidents and it is a great tonic for your body. So please let me know on how you like this post. Recently I have also joined purg.com, spoutible, bluesky, and threads by instagram. These are an alternative to twitter and my user name on all of them are the same as the others benazirs_blog_, enjoy this post and please let me know if this is helpful.
