Yesterday was the first time ever I had tried both Tom Brown and Hausa koko and it is love at first bite. I really enjoyed it with my akara. Also I tasted ginger and I really love the taste of ginger root a lot.
The instrucions are for stovetop use only on this one too as well and I got a microwave safe dish ready and added 3 tbs of Hausa koko powder, 2 tsps of either turbinado sugar, honey or agave nectar and 1 cup of water a little at a time to make a lump free batter while beating vigorously until it is very smooth.
Cover and cook in microwave for 1 minute. Remove and gently lift lid to avoid getting scalded . If it is still a little watery, stir again so it would be nice and smooth and cook for 30 seconds. Remove and add 1/4 cup of milk stir again until it is well mixed up then place in microwave for 30 more seconds. Remove one final time, lift the lid and stir.
Replace the lid and let sit for 5 minutes before consuming.
