Crab Boil

Oh My God, this is one of my most favorite meals ever. They say if you are from the south or from Maryland which is on the Beltway along with Virginia that you can’t get enough of crab. Honestly I am from Chicago born and raised and I even had my daughters here too. Only two of my grandchilden where born in Milwaukee and my youngest grandchild was born here in Chicago too. Only my parents immigrated from Europe. However you can use any type of crab you want. I used blue crab because it is cheep. There may not be that much meat on them since they are small.
Before we get started making this crab boil you will need to make Homemade Old Bay Seasoning Done My Way or buy old bay seasoning ready made. The choice is yours. Now you can take between 6 to 10 crabs and place them in a large pot like a large coldero. Add this to the crabs then take 1 pinch of pickling spice and grind it in mortar and pestle and add this to there too. Add a bag of shrimp that has been deveined but still on its shell. Wash these off and stick it in there with a crab. Take 2 ears of corn cut in half and 3 potatoes scrubbed and unpeeled. Quarter them and place with the crab and everything else. Add 1 package of zabiha halal hotlinks. Cut each hotlink in half before adding to this pot. This is available at a lot of zabiha meat stores, 1 bullion cube, 1 pinch of pink salt and enough water to cover everything, 3 dashes of maggi or knorr aroma, 1 onion or shallot quartered, 1 clove of garlic mashed, 1 bay leaf. 3 dashes of malt vinegar, 1 dab of marmite, 3 dashes of worcestershire sauce. Stir, cover and cook for 20 minutes, the vegetables must be soft. Hard potatoes causes indegestion and lots of gas not good for the stomach at all.
You can use crab legs and crab claws too of larger crabs if you wish or you can also stick a lobster tail and other raw shellfish too on the shell. Do not add the precooked and smoked ones. It is for raw only. Enjoy this with an ice cold bottle of Non alcholic brew.
