Tomato Rice

When I went to the store today. I was in a total shock that my grocery bill was over 300 bucks US. I remember my dad told me about way back when you can spend 30 bucks US for groceries and you had a lot of bags. Now days for sure you definately don’t need a bag for sure. My poor mom whould also die from sticker shock.

I need to pay my bills to keep my internet and my gas and electricisty so I can continue to cook and post dishes for this blog. I would deeply apprieciate it a lot. I am not doing this to beg at all. This is my job and I am trying to make money from my content.
This recipe is very simple and tasty and I hope you like it. Make Garam Masala first before you start making this dish. Add either 1/4 cup of either olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil or vegetable oil on high heat in a coldero. Add 1 onion or shallot cut in to half moon slices to caramelize. Chop and add 2 cloves of garlic.
Add the contents of the mortar and pestle containing the garam masala, 1 pinch each of hing, pink salt, paprika, 3 curry leaves and stir. Crush 1 Kashmiri chili in mortar and pestle and add to the masala mix. Chop and add 1 green chili and chop 1 tomato and stir until the tomato turns mushy. Add 1 dab of tomato paste and stir. Add 1 cup of either brown or white basmati rice that has been rinced until the water turns clear, 5 cups of water and stir until the tomato paste disolves and it comes to a boil. Turn down to low and let cook for 20 minutes. After the rice has been absorbed by the water then shut the heat off and let it sit for another 20 minutes covered.
Serve this with raita, lassi or even kabab. This is an amazingly delicious dish that you aught to try.
